Time Doesn't Heal All Wounds
5-26-09

some things never fade with time
remain an ache prodding your heart
some images stay imprinted on your mind's eye
for all eternity
no matter how hard you try to wipe them from your memory palace
these things we never forget
we choke on them and their indignities
we may suffer less but that doesn't
take the sting from their bite
nor does it lessen the blood that
oozes from wounds that never heal
