When We're Serious
Sat May 16, 09
when we're just crying for help,
when we only want attention,
we use razor blades and take pills,
when we're serious,
when for whatever reason this world becomes too much to bear,
we put guns in our mouths.
You know what though,
I think I might punch the next person who says "He's in a better place."
THIS is the better place,
where his wife and children and grandchildren and all the other people who loved him are shedding salty tears for someone they will never again see
except in faded photographs.
Please don't tell me he's better off.
He may be but we aren't and
all I want to do is scream the words of a hypocrite who said
"Live, Live for the sun, the dream, the excitable gift."
